Backing up SEC4.x - Instructions?

In the light of recent "events" (don't ask for details :smileywink:) I searched for articles on backing up SEC - a topic which has also come up several times in this forum. There aren't many - I've found no more than a handful.

The recently updated article Enterprise Console: backing up the server gives the impression that backing up the database (by whatever unspecified means) and exporting the Certification Manager registry keys constitutes a complete backup of your Sophos Enterprise Console installation (although the next sentence relativizes this somewhat: Ensure you can recover the system from this backup). But this article is (like Enterprise Console: upgrading to the latest version, and migrating the console and configuration to a new 32-bit server and Enterprise Console: how to migrate Enterprise Console and the Sophos database from a 32-bit server to a 64-bit server) about upgrade and migration and furthermore it does not mention the SEC version and therefore neither EM nor SUM (the other two are explicitly for 3.x).

There are also two disaster recovery articles (one for SEC and one for SBE) - both not for the 4.x versions - and one or two for EM Library.

I daresay that the instructions are not "complete" (especially for SEC4.x). One thing that might bite you is the SophosUpdateMgr account - unless you choose otherwise, it is created with a (I assume) random password. The restored updating policies will contain the password from the previous incarnation though. In order to avoid issues you should either  use a known password for SophosUpdateMgr or specify a different user in the updating policies. It's also not clear which type of installation you should chose and at which point you should restore the database. And perhaps an "advanced recovery guide" would be needed for installations using additional SUMs, message relays or other "advanced" configurations.

As 4.5 will be out soon I suppose at least some of us might want it.
