mal/PDEFx-d - malicious PDF file

I have this and it's been quarantined but every time I re-boot 'it'  (or something else)  keeps taking over my computer...

I'm in control for the first few minutes, I can do anything I want (open a browser, run a scan, open the task manager, etc..) but after a few minutes I get a pop up which reads:

"application cannot be executed. the file winword.exe is infected. do you want to activate your antivirus software now? "

Hell NO! & anyway my sophos is already activated so I know it's bogus.

Next I get a big red spyware alert! mid screen which I can't move, close or delete

Then a pop up over my system tray with another similar alert

Then browser windows start opening up w/ offers for xxx sites and viagra...

By this time it's all over - I can't open a browser, get into the control panel, I can't even open Microsoft word.Anything I opened prior to the activation of the virus I can operate and I can still access my start menu and shut down my computer.

My last Sophos update was this morning so I 'assume' my sophos is up to date. I've run a scan now 3 times.

Any suggestions?
