Firewall fills tmp directory

When my computer starts up, it starts the Sophos protection line on my computer including Sophost Client Firewall service.  This program is creating a tmp file on my hard disk.  The file quickly grows until it fills my available space.  Within 15 minutes, it is already 1,983,844KB.  Since it is being used by the process, it cannot be deleted.  I have to kill the process to be able to keep working as other programs (namely mysql) need to use the space also.  I looked through the settings and cannot find anything that will help limit this.  I hate to have to constantly disable this protection, and would like to find a way to keep it running while still being able to work.  Is there a way to limit the file size or force it to clean up the tmp file every so often?

Windows XP SP3

  • Hi,

Is it a file like: JET****.tmp?

I have one that is 7.8MB.  If I stop the "Sophos Client Firewall" service I can delete it.  When I then restart the service it is re-created and goes up to about the same 8MB but stops.

In the Firewall settings are they the default of "Keep size under: 50MB"?

How big is the actual log file:

    C:\ProgramData\Sophos\Sophos Client Firewall\logs\op_data.mdb

    Thanks,

    Jak
