  • Hi,

Is it the installation of a certain package of those that causes problems?

If you install Just Office but not the Thesaurus software is it all ok, this is such a common application to be used with Sophos I'd have your problem if it were :).

Can you remove the Thesaurus software, reboot and then install SAV, is the machine stable at this point?  Can we confirm this before then installing the Thesaurus software.

We then need to understand what exactly the Thesaurus software installs.  I would suspect there must be some sort of "active" component within it to cause such problems,  it can't just be a collection of data files.  Maybe some sort of DRM driver maybe?

It might be worth downloading AutoRuns from: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902. With this you can do a compare, it could be useful to create a .arn file before you install the Thesaurus software and then again after.  I would be looking closly at the driver sections when you do the compare.

I hope this helps you identify the component that is causing you a problem.

    Regards,

    Jak
