virus removal

I need to do a manual cleanup with a virus but not sure where to find the file.  I've run a search and have not been able to find the virus.  Virus is Troj/TDL3Mem-A

    if you look at the analysis of Troj/TDL3Mem-A the Action Tab states: Please contact Sophos support for assistance removing this threat. (contacts are listed here, please see also the Customer checklist for the information you should have at hand).

    BTW: Manual cleanup doesn't mean you have to locate and scrub a certain file - and as Troj/TDL3Mem-A provides detection for the memory-resident component of the TDL3 family of rootkits no file is associated with the detection.

    That is all very well, but Sophos Help don't want to help me. They've said I have to go back to my faculty. They initially sent me the rootkit, but when I asked about an error installing the rootkit, they then said to go back to my university. The University have been singularly unhelpful also.

    This is - although it may seem unhelpful to you - the correct answer. Support for end users is the customer's responsibility.

    So which threat are you trying to cleanup, and which tool are we talking about? What is the error when you try to install it?
