How to automate reapplying for the application policy

Is there any way to do a scheduled reapplying for the application policy.

Not only the manual task through the sonsole?

thanks

  • Hello Michael,

are you talking about Application Control? Why do you need to reapply a policy - if you change it, it's usually automatically applied. Do you encounter problems with application control?

  • Hi Christian,

well, we have for certain reasons some users, which need to have local-administration rights on their clients.

And sometimes they disable the Application Control and don't enable it back again.

Is there a possibility to re-enable this on a schedule?

    thanks Michael

  • Hello Michael,

so your users not only have administration rights but they are also snoopy - unless my installation is warped "Application control ..." is only available using Configure on the menu bar. They probably modify other settings too. Administrators can also stop and disable services and uninstall software (including Sophos for the moment). If it's "their own" machine - well, they have administrative rights and should know what they do. If the computer is shared with other people they should be made responsible for their actions - otherwise they shouldn't have administrative rights. It's a simple as that.

If certain people are permitted to make changes I wouldn't reset them automatically as this might interfere with something they are doing at this moment. And timing of the schedule might pose a problem anyway.
