Updating CID on Netware server using SEC4/SUM

I have used the standalone EMLibrary  to update CIDs on Netware servers for years but EMLibrary won't download Sophos 9.5 so I have had to replace my EMLibrary installation with SEC4 (running on an XP workstation).

I can't persuade SUM to update the CID using the Novell credentials as specified in the technote here http://www.sophos.com/support/knowledgebase/article/12456.html.  I note that this is the format the EMLibrary was using, only EMLibrary had a string builder that put it together.

I am using the string: .CN=Sweep1.OU=Staff.OU=Site1.O=CC|PINEWOOD|.CN=CCSRV1.OU=Site1.O=CC

Where Sweep1 is the account with the permissions to update the contents of that directory.  I have tried it with and without the leading dots (CN and .CN).

Has anyone else managed to get it to work?

TIA

KD

  • Here is what seemed to work in my environment:

    User.ou.o|TREE|server.ou.o

For your string it should be:

    Sweep1.Staff.Site1.CC|PINEWOOD|.CCSRV1.Site1.CC

Now, I have updates being distributed to my Netware servers - I just need to figure out how to cause the desktop PC's to get the new updates...
