Cant open main application

Hello,

I have installed Sophos Anti-Virus 9.5.0  on my computer. Since today I can't open the main application... Windows 7 says: "Sie haben keine ausreichenden Rechte, um Sophos Endpoint Security and Control zu starten - Sie sind kein Mitgleid einer Sophos-Gruppe. Um diese Anwendung starten zu können..."

This says "You dont have the rights to execute Sophos... - You arent member of any Sophos Group".... But I am member of SophosAdministrator. Even if I login in Administrator account I cant open Sophos. Also adding a new user to SophosAdministrator doesnt seem to help.

I have found this (http://www.sophos.de/support/knowledgebase/article/13144.html) support page but nothing of it helps. I really wonder about this!! I have downloaded a few "important" Windows Updates yesterday.

Looking forward 2 any answers...

David

Edit: Im using Win7 Prof 64bit.

  • Hi

This could be because you have more then one domain and a Sophos server sitting on each one, then the wrong one being installed. Just in-case I’’’’m not making myself clear.

    Staff domain – domain1

    Guest domain –domain2

A client on domain1 accidently gets domain2’’’’s Sophos installation (human error).

Just reinstall from the correct domain and it will be fine.

    If that’’’’s not your set-up I’’’’m afraid I can’’’’t help.
