Sophos AV Disk activities locking my SSD

Hi,

My institution recently switched to Sophos.

Sophos AV seems to lock I/O and I cannot determine what is happening. It happens several times a day and I cannot do anything for about 30-120 seconds. I suspected from updates and change the update scheduling every 1200 hours but still suffering several times a day.

I  have a netbook with SSD almost %70 free space. SSD I'm using is one of the faster ones in the market. My processor is 1.6 atom. But there is no CPU usage at these freezing moments.

Any ideas appreciated ?

I also have 512 MB ramdrive, I want to move cache directory of Sophos to this drive but don't know if there is a configuration for this. Any tricks ?
