Sophos Agent Service does not startup after sleep

Hey,

I have an odd problem with a few pc's. These machines are set to go on standby after a few hours of inactivity, when they come back on the sophos agent service is not started. You can easily start the service again and everything is fine but it does not startup automatically. All the other services startup no problem.

I have tried re-installing and it's still the same. There are no error messages in the event log related to this either.

Does anybody have any ideas what the problem could be?

    Hi Chris,

    Sorry to see you haven't yet had a reply to your question. It would be good to get back to us with a description of your environment. What Sophos products/versions do you have? What's your platform (OS, service packs, etc)? What hardware are you using? Is there anything special about your network set-up we should know about? You say there are no error messages, but is anything else unusual going on? Armed with that information, we should be able to get to the bottom of your problem.

    If you've already solved the problem, why not tell us how?

    Do you have a snippet from the Sophos agent log just before the sleep to see if there are any errors?

    I would imagine it's something to do with the networking on the machine when it goes into that state.
