Unknown software exception freezes Sophos scan

Hello,

I am having a problem running my Sophos scan.  Every time I start a scan, the scan will complete about 2% and then I receive a box with this error: 

SavService.exe--Application Error 

"The exception unknown software exception (0xc0000409) occurred in the application at location 0x58fa15c2"

At this point, the scan will no longer move past 2% completion and stays stuck scanning the same file so eventually I have to just give up on the scan and I cannot scan my computer.  I've tried closing this error box and just leaving it open with no avail.  If anyone knows why this is occurring or how to solve the problem, I would really appreciate it!

    You should contact Support I'd say (of course you could try reinstalling first but this might obliterate forensic evidence).
