4.5 Installation Problem

We removed everything we could of Sophos Enterprise Console and Library 3.x, including all the SQL items, but the new 4.5.1 installer refuses to do an install of the software ... as it can't upgrade!  We don't want to upgrade, and can't find anything in the registry, or any folders at all of any of the previous Sophos software so are at a loss to know why it won't do a new install for us?

Is there a batch file or script that can clean this out?  (The 4.5 checker is no use at all for this).

Any help appreciated.

    Hello JGH,

    as it can't upgrade

    while neither the Upgrade Advisor not the installer write novels I think you probably get a message which is a little bit more specific than Can't upgrade. So please post whatever it says even if you think it is meaningless. It might even write a small log what it thinks it has to do.
