Protect Computers wizard unavailable

I just added a new workstation, the enterprise console found it, but the "Protect Computers" option is unavailable to me.  Firewall is turned off on the workstation, so it's not that.

I'm running Enterprise Console 3.1.0, on Windows Server 2003, trying to connect to an XP workstation.

Any suggestions?

    I understand unavailable to me as "can't be selected", "greyed (ok, grayed) out". This should only be the case if the computer is in the Unassigned group which has no updating policy. A valid updating policy (a UNC primary server or initial install source) is required for Protect Computers to be available. You have to drag the computer onto one of the groups first.

    Or did you receive an error?
