Hi All.
I have got a Sophos Enterprise setup at work. I am trying to understand the update architecture that sophos uses and at the moment I am struggling to understand it.
From documentation, I have found the following.
1. Client computers (with sophos clients) receive their updates from their update managers
2. I can see that the Em Library has got subscriptions to which packages I want to download and the schedules. On the Enterprise Console server, there is a subscription that downloads these packages from the Sophos server
3. In the Enterprise Console under View/End Points I can see that the Enterprise Console server is listed and it is updating from Sophos website as well. Also there are the different Update Managers that are downloding from the master (Enterprise Console computer)
My question is, what is the difference between the Enterprise Library downloads and the Update Manager downloads that I see in Enterprise Console ? Is my setup incorrect in which case I am duplicating my downloads of the software and the updates?
Also, I can see the the EM Library is downloading to \\master-server\Interchk but the updata managers from all the other sites are downloading the updates from my master server [as shown in Enterprise Manager Console] from \\master-server\SophosUpdates. How does the update get from \\master-server\Interchk to \\master-server\SophosUpdates ?
Thank You in advance.
Niv
