Managing manually installed client with console?

Once you have manually installed Sophos on a client can you then manage it with the console?

For the last month the server that will be used to manage the Sophos Console has been offline.

I have manually installed Sophos on about 10 new PC's and configured them to update from Sophos and to run scheduled scans.

Once the Console is up and running will I be able to take control of these machines from the console?

Sophos Enterprise Console 4.5.1.0 on Windows server 2008R2 64bit Enterprise.

Thanks.

  • Hello LeighAnne,

will I be able to take control of these machines from the console

Unless you used a copy of your CID or a package built from it to install Sophos on the clients the RMS component will be missing and you have to find and (re-)protect the computers from the console. Otherwise they will already have been waiting desperately for their management server's resurrection.
