I need to delete a virus in quarantine, but...

A popup told me that I have a virus in quarantine. I checked it out and found that not only do I have that virus but I also have a suspicious file. I would like to clean up or delete both of these files but for some reason it says "no action (insufficient rights, please contact your administrator)" This would be easily dealt with if I were not already the administrator. I've tried to look it up and cant find a way of working around this. If anyone knows how I could fix this that'd be great.

Thanks

  • Hi,

Could I ask what is the full file path, filename and threat name of each?

Also, when you say you're already the administrator, I assume you are a member of the local "Administrators" group on the machine?  Is your account also a member of the "SophosAdministrator" group and the quarantine rights are unchanged from the defaults?  If your account was created after the installation of Sophos, your account will not be a member of it, unless it was manually added.

    Thanks,

    Jak
