  • Not having SEC support for Linux machines is a big problem for my operation. We have many Linux machines that we keep track of via SEC alongside our Windows and Mac machines. Why is this support being removed?

  • Hello

Don't worry, we are not ending SEC management for Linux, just UNIX.

Did you know Linux can be managed from within Sophos Central? We have recently released enhancements to the Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux offering which you will hopefully find very useful:

    • Malicious Traffic Detection: Now available for Linux servers in Sophos Central, MTD will alert when outbound communication to malicious Command and Control servers is detected as a result of a potential compromise of the server.
    • Synchronized Security: Sophos Security Heartbeat™ for Linux, in conjunction with Sophos XG Firewall, provides enhanced threat protection, automated incident response and real-time insight and control. More about Synchronized Security.
    • Greater control of Sophos software updates: The ability to schedule and pause product updates (for example, do not allow updates during a change freeze period) is now available for Linux servers in Sophos Central.
    • Docker containers support: Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux has been enhanced with improved malware detection for Docker containers. See Sophos Antivirus for Linux: Docker containers support.

More enhancements will come to SAV for Linux, managed by Central, in the future.

  • Thanks Mark for your confirmation. We hope to see same feature sets on SEC soon. Take that not all customers will move to Cloud. Banks, Energy Industries, Hospital still have custom applications running on Linux Machine and wont go into Cloud. In Europe, we need Sophos On-Premise with the new features that only Sophos Central provides at the moment.

    Thanks
