Need help please removing remnants of Sophos from my MAC in order to reinstall Sophos

I uninstalled Sophos using the software they provided as it wasn't working on my MAC so I decided to try to install it again. The uninstall seemed to be going ok until it wasn't. Suddenly got a message saying the uninstall had failed. However the app was now missing in my Applications folder. I went to finder and searched for Sophos and found a few remnants there. I moved them to the trash and emptied the trash. In hindsight this may have been the wrong thing to do but here I am.

Two things remain "savosx_73_he.dmg" and "disabled.plist~orig" when I search for Sophos.

I tried to reinstall Sophos but it would not reinstall due to the old remnants hanging around so now I am stuck. How do I get rid of the remnants in order to reinstall a fresh version of Sophos? Please keep answers as simple (or as detailed) as possible because I am not a programmer nor am I sure how to get into such areas to make changes. From what I've read I now cannot download any antivirus software until the remnants are removed.

Thank you in advance.
