Issue with Sophos Anti-Virus Home Edition Version 9.6.8 on Windows Laptop

Hello everyone,

I am facing an issue with Sophos Anti-Virus Home Edition Version 9.6.8 on my Windows laptop. The software was working fine until a few days ago when it started causing my laptop to slow down significantly. Even simple tasks like opening a web browser or Microsoft Word take much longer than usual, and the overall performance of the system has become very sluggish.

I have tried disabling the real-time scanning feature and running a full system scan, but the problem persists. I have also tried updating the software to the latest version, but that didn't solve the issue either.

Has anyone else experienced a similar issue with Sophos Anti-Virus Home Edition Version 9.6.8 on Windows? If so, could you please suggest a possible solution to this problem?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

The version of Sophos you're using has been retired. You can find this mentioned in the following article.

For home use, I suggest looking into the Sophos Home product.
