some doubts about sophos on android.

Hello guys, I downloaded sophos's free version of antivirus on my mobile lenovo zuk z2 plus which is on android 7 yesterday, as of right now. I also downloaded its companion app which was required for app protection. But, I have doubts the app is running in the background, as whenever I open and close it, a message pops up saying ' Please wait until the app starts' and then goes. The app is not even present on the notification panel[it should be, right? ]. I disabled this app for battery optimization, gave it administrative rights as well as accessibility, but I think apps autorun by itself on android 7 and higher without giving special autorun permissions. I hope somebody sheds light on these predicament. Thank you for reading.

    May I know what is the "Companion app" that you installed along with the details of Sophos Mobile security version that you have installed? Can you also share us the screenshot of the pop-up message that you get while opening/closing the application?

    This is the companion app, from its description I gathered that it protects the main antivirus app from terminating in the background or due to battery optimizations, I guess :- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sophos.appprotectionmonitor

    I have given sophos permission to autostart, accessibility permissions, administrative permissions, whitelisted it in my smartphones native battery optimization software,even gave it usage access perhaps[not so sure], but still I have noticed when my battery goes below 20 %[I have disabled automatic battery savings], the accessibility setting for sophos turns off. I only noticed it as I was monitoring the app and saw it in the warnings section. I have a lenovo zuk z2 on the latest android update for it[nougat].

    And yeah, the pop-up message only comes up when I close the app, not when I open it. It states that 'Please wait, while the sophos app starts' . 

    and yeah, also apparently I just cant make the 'link checker' work. It just will not take either firefox or chrome as the default browser, and no matter what I do, it seems I just cant activate this functionality of sophos.

    Please look into it, as I think this is a really good app and pretty well on the battery too.

    Also, apparently the application does not have a permanent notification badge on the notification panel, like I had observed with kaspersky . It comes up when it has scanned apps, though.
