I am trying to remove Sophos from my mac, and I am asked for a Tamper Protection Password. I simply downloaded the free home edition, therefore have no tamper protection password. Can someone please help. This is extremely frustrating.
I have had same experience. This software is a scam. Backup your important documents and reformat your computer immediately to remove it.
This is unfortunate as I use a lot of specific design software for work, which will require me a full day to reinstall all my software and plugins.
SOPHOS IS A SCAM. DO NOT DOWNLOAD. DO NOT INSTALL!
Even after removal you will get the attached image everyday for the rest of your life.
I should also mention their support is incompetent. They respond with worthless terminal commands that are not effective.
I repeat DO NOT USE SOPHOS. SCAM CITY!
This software is a total scam and unable to be removed once installed. I hope my posts will serve to warn other consumers before they get scammed into the same thing I did. My experience resulted in me having to reformat my entire OS hard drive and reinstall all of my software. Shame on me for downloading. I hope others learn from my mistake.
