Issues after installing build 29 patch

Hello,

After installing the build 29 patch, two products we use have developed an issue.

SGN ver 8.1 (8.10.2.55) Hotfix 1901 installed client and server

First off, Autodesk Revit

The application loads but accessing files from the server pop up a message saying the file is an older version and needs to be updated from 2009 to 2020. This is a file created in 2020, 2009 never existed on the client PC or in the organisation.

Secondly, 28 Hands Mail Manager (email filing Outlook plug-in)

The issue is around the searching. You open the search window, it displays any emails that fit your search criteria and you have permission to access but when you try and open a message, Outlook displays a message saying it can't open it - it's either open or you don't have permissions to open.

On both issues, rolling back to patch 28 fixes it.

I have already added Revit and Mail manager into ignored applications and the file server locations in question have been added into the file encryption policy as an ignore mode.

Apart from grabbing SDU logs from effected clients, is there anything else that will assist in diagnosing the issue with Sophos?

Has anyone here experienced any issue like this either?

Thanks, Ollie

  • Hi Shweta,

Thank you for your response. I am in the process of contacting all 43 users to remove this patch.

This is not only taking up a large amount of my time, but is also embarrassing.

Please could you give me details to open a complaint to help ensure that the right people understand the pain this has caused and help avoid this type of issue happening again.

I also have some other issues regarding Sophos Safeguard that I am disappointed about so would like to raise this with Sophos - where is the best place for me to do this?

    Thanks,

    Ian.
