Hi
We have got Sophos WS 500 web applicance. Facebook videos are not working even if we give user the full access to everything.
This thread was automatically locked due to age.
Can you look at the Activity on the Sophos appliance and Firewall and see if there are lots of calls to a particular site?
If so can you add the site as a trusted site (to test) and see if the videos now work?

I recommend speaking to our technical support team about the issue. They may have to go through the current configuration and what settings are enabled/ disabled that could be causing the problem - which can easily be done through a remote access tunnel to the appliance.

Hi Rnajam,
Checking the 'Recent Activity Search' is a good idea because it will also show you which requests have been blocked/allowed. It could be that a particular URL is being blocked.
Streaming media issues can also happen when you have Unclassified Sites set to 'Medium Risk' in 'Configuration > Global Policy > Security Filter'. The appliance will scan Unclassified Sites more intensively and it could be that the location of the video has an unclassified risk class.
To test out this theory I'd recommend to either:
- Set 'Unclassified Sites' back to the default of 'Low Risk' in 'Configuration > Global Policy > Security Filter' .
- Or, add the domain where the video is hosted to the Local Site List and set it to 'Low Risk' (Normal Scanning) or 'Trusted' (No Scanning)
Sophos support can help you identify where these videos are hosted (the media itself may not reside on facebook.com), and what changes are required for streaming to work. I'd recommend to log a call with them.
Thanks,
Tom.
