Setting up wireless Access for the UTM9 Home

Not sure this is the correct place but I will give it a try.
I am looking for any help on setting up wireless access on my UTM9 home F/W. I do not know if I just need to buy an AP or something else. Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

You can use a consumer AP or Router, or you can buy a Sophos AP.

The Sophos APs do give you features that most consumer routers don't support, such as VLANs, multiple SSIDs, etc.

DDWRT can do VLANs on many consumer routers though:

Thanks guys. I will look into it. I am getting ready to "Try" to implement wireless behind Astaro UTM 9 for the first time.
My wife needs it for her nook and her works lappy.

I would just flash a Cisco E3000 if you can find one with DD-WRT. You'd have to go with the AP50 which is about $400 to get dual band capabilities.

You could pick up a refurbished E3000 which does dual band for like $30-40 on Ebay.

If you don't need VLAN tagging or anything you should be fine with just the stock firmware then.
