Migrating from TMG - User Based Firewall Rule for Publishing OWA?

Hi All,

We're in the process of migrating our Web Publishing from TMG to UTM. All is going well for 'Basic' sites, though our IT policy states that only certain users are allowed to use Outlook Web Access externally. With TMG we can authenticate users before they reach OWA and asses whether or not they are allowed to access Webmail. Is it possible to set up a user based Firewall rule in UTM that can talk to AD to asses group membership and allow or deny based on this?

Cheers

Anthony

  • Hi Anthony,

Such regulation of access is accomplished in the UTM with the Web Application Firewall using Reverse Authentication. You can do a Google search on the old User BB by including site:astaro.org in the search string. To search only in the forum related to this question, include site:astaro.org/gateway-products/web-server-security.
