Replace RED (how to take over the config)

Hi,
what happens with the config, if a RED gets defekt and have to replace. For fault tolerance we whant to have a secound RED as cold standby.
Following questions did i have:

- Can I configure a secound RED with the same SubNet?
- Can I replace the RED ID and unlook Code in an existing configuration?

What is the best way.

RED configurations are keyed to the device ID, so that cannot be changed from one device to another.

You can Transfer config. Just add the New RED to Astaro. But do Not use Automatik config Mode.

After that went to to the old Interface config and change it to the New Hardware (RED).

You can also do cold-standby by joining the two REDs into the same physical network by bridging them at the ASG. Then you can turn one of them off/on at any time.

You also can use same subnet across some RED devices by simply bridging them.
