Hi Meghan,
The only internal WiFi supported is one of the Atheros PCI cards that's used in the SG 1x5w series.

Google site:community.sophos.com/products/unified-threat-management/f atheros PCI, limiting the search to 1/1/2016 to today.

in this thread https://community.sophos.com/products/unified-threat-management/f/wireless-security/56517/software-appliance-with-wlan
there is some Sophos SG125W Hardware listed with
0b:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Atheros Communications Inc. Device [168c:003c]
So I think devices with chipset QCA988x/986x using 168c:003c PCI ID
But the question is, are the drivers for SG hardware in software image?

P.S. Maybe this one is interesting too http://skyline-bw.com/wordpress/2016/11/20/compex-wle200nx-mit-sophos-utm/

"... are the drivers for SG hardware in software image?" - They must be, otherwise how would people have gotten internal WiFi cards to work?
Cheers - Bob
I think the Compex WLE600VX has that ID. Whether it works or not is another matter. I have one on order so I guess I'll know soon enough.
To what I've read on the internet the Compex WLE600VX was working. According to https://wikidevi.com/wiki/Rivet_Networks_Killer_Wireless-AC_NIC_1420
that ID 168c:003c should be Rivet Networks Killer Wireless-AC NIC 1420. I'll give that a try too, if that thing is arriving from china. Because I need NGFF the Compex isn't suitable for me.

The card arrived today. I haven't had a chance to install it yet. In fact, this is my first Sophos box. I'll be putting it together at the weekend and I'll definitely report back with my findings :)
Hi, Jack, and welcome to the UTM Community, and your first interaction is helping out - awesome!

Thanks for the warm welcome, Bob :)
OK, I've just installed 9.5 on my system. It's a small embedded device with the N3160 CPU and dual Intel NICs. Contrary to my expectation, I had no problems with an HDMI install. All hardware was recognised during the install except the WiFi card. Unfortunately, I can't set up the device fully today. I will do so at the weekend. Is it possible that the card will be recognised on initial boot?
There's a known problem for built-in wireless. From the command line, do cat /etc/modules and tell us the result.

I think I've discovered the problem. Due to an incorrect website listing, what I thought was a full-size PCIe slot is really a mSATA/PCIe combo slot. I have taken a chance and ordered a different (half-size mini PCIe) card. Apologies for the mistake.
Hi Alex, after a false start with the Compex card, I've ordered a Dell Killer 1420. It is a half mini-PCIe card. I believe there is also a NGFF version which might be the one you are waiting on. Does yours have Bluetooth too? I was concerned that this might be a problem. It has the correct ID, at least. Mine is also coming from China. Will report back. Might be a while, though.
