I have searched high and low through the UTM web pages, but I can not find where this setting is configurable? The only way is still in the backend.
Perhaps the UTM interface wasn't updated to accommodate this?
Usually you would edit the default setting template:
vi /var/sec/chroot-ipsec/etc/radiusclient/radiusclient.conf-default
radius_timeout
and then it would set the setting in
vi /var/sec/chroot-ipsec/etc/radiusclient/radiusclient.conf

To follow up with this thread and ID (NUTM-9877).
The RADIUS authentication setting mentioned by BAlfson is the correct setting to configure.
Implemented in UTM v9.602, for L2TP over IPsec - the UTM will use the RADIUS server timeout configured.
Note: If there is more than one RADIUS server configured on the UTM, the longest timeout that's defined across all the configured servers will be used.
