Custom Report returns no results

The custom reports when I try to run them always return no records found. I am running SFOS 16.05.7 MR-7. As you see in the screen shot below I have data to report on, for this example I used 9-5-17 through 9-6-17.

But when I run a custom report I get this. I am clicking the generate button.

I have checked an on box reporting is enabled.

What am I missing?

  • Hi,

I have been experimenting with those reports. Before you tried to generate that report, had you tried the virus report?

I found that the virus report returns no records and then web report does the same thing. If you change tabs, return to the custom report tab and then run the report data is available.

Also do you have logging enabled on that firewall rule?

  • Hi Ian,

I tried generating a Web Virus Report (No records found), clicked on the Compliance tab, clicked back on Custom tab, and tried to generate a Web Surfing Report and still no records found. I am logging all rules.

  • Hi Kevin,

did you click on the search button before generating the report?

Update : I have tested on two XGs and both generate reports. You might need to restart one of the services.

Otherwise wait until one of the linux gurus can point you at a cli string.

  • Hi Ian,

I have tried clicking search before generating the report. I also tried the A?V search then moving tabs and back again to search then generate reports and still no records are returned. I also have tried re-installing the firewall with a complete wipe, didn't restore with any backups waited several days trying to generate reports before posting here.

  • Hi

Looking at your second image of the Customer Reports page, you have left the Domain and User Name fields blank. You would need to fill these out in order to generate relevant data on your report. You can adjust these fields and select a ‘Group’ instead of a ‘User’ or search by ‘IP Address’ or ‘Category’ instead of a Domain. Thanks.

  • HI Karlos,

I have tried many time with an IP address, without an IP address, with a domain name, without a domain name and always get no records found.

  • Hi Karlos,

on my XGs I get the report generated without filling in those fields.

On the upgrade one and the one built with the latest ISO.

  • Hi Ian,

How do you run the daily reports? I see nothing listed in the reports section called daily reports.

  • Hi Kevin,

in the reports page there "Show Reports Settings" tab. In there you setup your custom report views you want mailed to you.
