Allowing specific Youtube videos

Question

Asking this for a education customer. They want to allow only Youtube and no other video hosting applications. Also within Youtube they would like a filter wherein only education videos should be permitted and others blocked. Not sure if this is possible. The Firewall in case is an XGS2300

What a firewall / web proxy can do is somewhat limited. If an education customer is really interested in controlling youtube then what they should do is have a Google Classroom account (also called Google Workspace for Education). It shifts control from the firewall to the website. This allows teachers to approve and restrict videos. https://support.google.com/edu/classroom/answer/6263784 Then within Web Policy you can enforce that it always uses that Google Workspace (restrict login domains for google apps). It is not fine control but the firewall web policy can also Enforce YouTube restrictions. support.google.com/.../7354993

 You can create the Application filter policy, denying all the streaming media and allowing Youtube application should do.

 In addition to the restriction on allowing appropriate videos only on youtube can be done by enabling "Enforce YouTube restrictions Restriction level" on web filter policy applied. This restrictions only work with the web proxy settings and you may need to enable the HTTPS scanning and have to import the SSL CA.
