SMS 7.1.2474(18) Reporting Device Rooted

I noticed this morning that SMS for Android is reporting that my device is rooted when it is not.

Hi Alex,

Please help me with the following :

1. Are you using the managed version of Sophos Mobile Contol or the standalone version?

2. Are you seeing this message on any other Android device?

3. What is the version of Android?

4. What is the version of Sophos Mobile Control?

Android version is 7.0 and I am running stand alone AV. See attached image to answer the other questions.

Hi Alex,

We have some additional checks for root rights which are executed by the SMC client. If one of these checks apply to the device, it is marked as rooted. You can get an SMC Android client log and directly check what is causing the violation. Please refer to the article How to get log files from Sophos apps installed on Android or iOS mobile devices. Within this log, you might find lines like these:

INFO [SMC Device]: found rooting indicator:

This guide is using SMC and my issue is with SMS.

I have the same problem on my Galaxy Note 8. When I went to your suggested post it gave this advice: "

Open the Sophos Mobile Control client app

Click on the menu button (Android) or the Info button (iOS) of the SMC client app

Select Send log
This will open the Share with dialog where you can choose to send the log via mail or upload it to a cloud storage provider."

However, when I do this I get no Send Log option - only Log, which gives me a list of the actions with no option to share anything.
