Unable to deal with threats

I'm using Sophos Mobile Security under Android 4.4.2 on my ZTE Kis II Max phone.

A scan identifies "Geräteverwaltung" (probably device management in English) as infected with "Andr/Gedma-A".

Clicking on the Threats reveals a whole lot of auhtorisations for this app, but no further action is available (such as delete or hide threat, as in the spohos software I use on my computer).

Clicking on "further information" leads to an website stating that an error has occured and the actutal page has either been deleted or moved elsewhere.

I'm fairly new with both Android and Sophos Mobile Security, maybe it's just that I overlooked something incredibly simple and basic.

Does anybody have an idea where I could find the functions required to deal with the threat?

Best regards

Sebastian

  • Hello,

the problem with device management app is that it is a system app and cannot be de-installed.

If Sophos Mobile Security detects a threat in an app it provides the function to deinstall it. However, for system apps this is not possible.

We have seen devices that are delivered with malware. In those cases this malwre cannot be removed due to the system architecture of Android.
