Prevent Users from Bypassing SMC

Is there a way to prevent users from bypassing SMC and connecting directly to the activesync server, short of disabling OWA altogether?

  • Hi astevens,

this is something which is not configurable with SMC.

I can think of two ways how to realize this:

    a) You route every traffic for yourexchange.company.com/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync directly to your SMC-Server.

    b) You install the IP and Domain Restriction Role Service on the Exchange Server and add an allow entry to the ActiveSync website for the SMC server. In addition you deny the access for unspecified clients.

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards

    Stefan
