Synchs not working on iPhones

Hello,

I have recently upgraded the SMC from  3.0 to 3.6 and updated the APN certificate.

When i check the Devices  page i've noticed a high percentage of iPhones have  not synchronized since the upgrade of the System and APN update.

when i try to manually synch the phone from the console ( Refresh Data ) the job hangs in 'Task View' and doesn't seem to do anything.

Any help would be greatful.

Jason

  • You might want to look at the SMC Server logs to see what's happening, and also plug an iPhone into a computer running Apple iPhone Configuration Utility (IPCU):

You can download Apple IPCU from here:  http://support.apple.com/downloads/#iphone configuration utility

Once you connect the iPhone to the computer, click on the device in IPCU in "Devices" section, and click on the "Console" tab.

Then repeat your steps to see what's happening. You might need to send these logs to Sophos support.

On another note, the "send message" option is sent to the SMC app and not actually a true SMS message. This is a wording mistake in the SMC solution.

The others rely on the Bootstap I believe. Have the devices been bootstrapped ? Look for the MDM profile on the iPhone in Settings / Profiles...
