Can't cannot to Webadmin at all

Hi i just started to use the software edition of sophos firewall utm i install it using Vmware/hyper-v but when i install finished i type the Ip address it does not prompt me to the website or anything and yes i already type https in front and i even try access to Webadmin on my Host pc/Vmware to no avail.

The ip is https://192.168.2.1:4444

tried a different ip 192.168.5.10:4444 and already tried to Reinstall the ISO and it still Just won't access to the Webadmin(NO certificate error) Just Error Connection.

I would not use a virtual disk smaller than 40GB. Your problem is that you're still trying to connect to WebAdmin without changing the IP address of a NIC on the device running the VM.

Their using Vm so i assume Vmware can be used to but for the Configuration i have no idea.

I suspect the VMware NICs you are using might have to be swapped around.

In my instance I had:

vNIC1 on VM Network

vNIC2 on LAB Network

Switch it around to:

vNIC1 on LAB Network

vNIC2 on VM Network

The vNICs does not match that on the Sophos UTM.

Hopefully that solves your problem.

The problem is, that your VM network adapters are set to NAT. With this setting you're not able to access the UTM from "outside". Only access from another VM within the same subnet will be possible.

You have to change at least the management network adapter in the VM settings to "Brigde" to get access from "outside" / the host system.

Then your UTM VM will get an IP address of your physical LAN if theres a DHCP server, and you should be able to access the UTM.
