software updates every 10 mins

Recently (past 2 weeks) users have been experiencing a significant slowdown in performance, I have traced it back to the sophos updater, updating client machines every 10mins (msiexec installs), tracking back further the update manager on the console is checking every 10 mins for update, and is re-downloading the same data every 10 mins. I have temporarily changed the schedules, however this doesnt really fix the issue. Is there a download cache or cookie to purge in order to make the software realize it has downloaded the latest version?

  • Hello michaelgbr,

which version of SEC are we talking about SEC4.0 and SUM? If so - Which products have you subscribed to? What does the Update managers view in SEC say? Any errors? And how did you find out it is re-downloading?

What's the status of the clients in the Endpoints view? I assume you have checked the autoupdate logs (ALUpdate2010....) . Do they say that SAVXP failed to install? Or are there other errors?
