Unable to install Endpoint Sercurity Controll Windows 7 32bit

My Windows 7 stand-alone home pc is protected with Sophos AV version 7 (retired) and is automaticly updated from a server at the network at school. In our network we have installed a new EM server protecting the netwerk PC's and the PC's at home. The server is working fine!

On my home PC I have downloaded the stand-alone version of AV 9.5 from the Sophos website. When installing the product an error 1721 is displayed...

When clicking on 'OK' a new message says that the installation has failed with error 0x80041f09. Searching the Sophos website I only see some relations with EM and not with SAV. Please help me.... After the errors are displayed, the old version of Sophos is disabled and left my PC unprotected.

Thanks in advace...

  • Hello Jan,

    there's a short article for 0x80041f09.

If it doesn't help you could try to uninstall what's still left (or already there) - start with the AutoUpdate component. I've seen some errors when users tried upgrading 7.x to 9.x on Win7 but eventually all could be resolved. But please try the suggested action from the article (and the uninstall) first.
