SESC 9 vs other AV products

What are your views of Sophos and SESC9?

It has been a while since I've used any other vendor. I hope to see some responses covering what others feel, like those that just come to Sophos recently as well as those like myself that use Sophos.

Back ground:

We have been using Sophos for over 3 years now and I'm pleased over all with this product. We used to be a Symantec shop and saw enough issues to move on.

    I walked into my current company while it was using CA Etrust antvirus and pest patrol.  Utter rubbish!!!   Complicated to setup, even harder to monitor and roll out to clients.  Oh and did I mention it never actually detected anything.

    With this in mind I sing Sophos praises very highly.  Within weeks of installing Sophos we had detected hundreds of viruses including conficker and were able to deal with them and prove to the MD that the investment was worth it.

    Sure there are other products and what is great for one scenario may not work for another.  For us Sophos is not "perfect" but it has proved to be a good investment and the support from Sophos is as valuble as the software itself.

    For those looking to choose a new product make sure you do your homework and get some feedback from their customers. We did and it porvided a great insight into the struggles people have with some of the other products available.
