PDF in Abacus blocked

Hello all

I have the following problem:

Sophos Central blocks when opening a pdf in Abacus (Java based ERP-Software). The application by itself works great without interruptions from sophos.

As workaround I disabled "Protect Java applications" in the "Threat Protection - Policy" in Sophos Central.

I only want to exclude Abacus from live protection and not java by itself. I added some Scanning Exclusions (File and Process based), didn't work.

Does anyone have a clue what to do next?

Thanks in advance for your feedback

  • Hi

Could you please confirm if the issue is seen when opening any specific PDF file or all PDF files?

If this event is suspected be a false positive , please refer How to report false positives to have this reported to Sophos.

Note: (Strictly Not Recommended) If you are looking to exclude this specific application, it can be done from Central Admin>System Settings > Global Scanning Exclusions > Add Exclusions > Choose the Exclusion type as Detected Exploits and select the detection. This would be a temporary workaround and not a fix.
