Adobe Reader not installing

Thanks for reaching out to the Sophos Community Forum. 

I had no issues when trying this on a VM with Sophos installed. That said, my test environment has little else installed outside of Sophos and Google Chrome.

May I ask if you're installing in a specific way, using Ninite or something similar? In some cases, if there’s an affiliate install package with Acrobat DC the installation may be blocked. I used this site when trying on my side.

Thanks for your response. I'm not doing any specific, just running the exe file from that link you sent.

Is there an Application Control policy that targets Adobe assigned to the computer? AppC will prevent installs.

No, there's no application control blocking this.

is it a server or an endpoint vm?

On the endpoint, the elements that can prevent an install are:

• Application Control
• The Endpoint Agent - if the file is detected as malicious - but then it would be cleaned up

On a server, in addition to the above, LockDown can also prevent installs.

Have you tested altering any other settings?
