My Sophos working correcly?

Hi,


Sophos 9.14 is run on my Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.
It is working silently, but I red somwhere that it is used to stop one times per a year.
So I get some query of it and I found the AV database is seems too old and get a "NO_SAVD_CONNECTION" also.
There is the all query what I ran from a command prompt.
Someone please inform me that these data is correct and my sophos is working perfectly.
I had singn the problems with yellow backrund.

 

1. /opt/sophos-av/bin/savdstatus --version

. . .  it is only partial copy of the whole output

 

4. /opt/sophos-av/bin/savdstatus
Sophos Anti-Virus is active

5. /opt/sophos-av/bin/savconfig query EnableOnStart
NO_SAVD_CONNECTION                                                                 -> There is a service what is not run ???

    You are running a very old version of UTM. Also you have posted in the wrong forum. Hopefully one of mods will move this thread to the correct forum.

    The UTM will restart when there is a UP2Date package installed.

    Are you a home user?

    Please upgrade to the latest version and review your issues.

    Dear Ian,

    the main and the engine version (9.14 and 3.69.2) is up to date.
    Regarding to https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/120189#Linux


    I try "/opt/sophos-av/bin/savupdate" to download the latest AV database, but its date does not changed (okt. 24.).
    So, what I have to update?

     

    I did not found "Sophos Home Linux" section (Mac and Windows exists)
    So, where is the right place for this question?

     

    Yes, I am a home user.
    The package was dedikated for me (with a login to the server) after a long procedure.
    I hope it not need to make it again for upgrade some component, but if yes write me please the steps.

    Hi,

     

    I think you are in the wrong forum altogether, you are after the anti-virus forums not the firewall forums. XG and UTM are firewall forums.

    Hello Imre,

    us "normal" moderators can only move a thread to a forum you've already joined - in this case Free Tools would be appropriate.

    Meanwhile I can answer 1.: Please see Trying to confirm Antivirus is up to date - it's for Windows but I'm sure you'll see how it relates to your question.

    As for 5.: Can't say what the issue is, before giving a heads up we should move this thread to the right forum.

    I checked it and seems to be actual (2017.11.10.).
    If you can manage please move this to "Free Tools".
    I would check the "NO_SAVD_CONNECTION" issue.

    I guess the first thing to check is that you are running savconfig as root?

     

    All the commands should be run as root, other than savscan.

    Thank you, I made a second run as root:

    sudo /opt/sophos-av/bin/savconfig query EnableOnStart
    TRUE                                                                                                    -> it is run now without error

    sudo /opt/sophos-av/bin/savdstatus
    Sophos Anti-Virus is active and on-access scanning is running          -> It is added info

    sudo /opt/sophos-av/bin/savdstatus --version

    It seems to me that my Sophos is up to date and run correctly :-)
