Sophos Antivirus for Linux (Ubuntu 16.04) with CyberghostVPN did not install correctly & corrupted my Internet access - How to install on Linux with a VPN service?

Would you please suggest whether Sophos Anti Virus for Linux is managed by Sophos Central?

I did not understand you, but the tip to post here came from a guy of Sophos in Germany, who could not help me, because I used a non commercial version. But anyway, I suppose, that if it is not running, I would not rather think about buying a version. So I hope I can find a quick help here.

If you imply, that I am in the wrong forum, please advise me, where to post!

Sophos support is available for the licensed product, not for the free products. I am assuming that you are using Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux free version.

Would you please try remove the VPN and then try to install Sophos on the machine and then install the VPN back on the machine and check the result?

I will do so! How can I detect that the process is running in the background. I guess the first thing would be a base check of the complete file system, isn't it?

Would you please suggest about the process which you want to check in the background? Sorry I was not able to understand that part.

We can do file system check but the above-mentioned step will clear the confusion whether the machine can work with both the products or has issue with them.

• The way went right, first install Sophos then CyberghostVPN - it worked finally (no reboot till now, but I can surf via VPN and savscan is running in the background

So that was also my question from my last post! What I find quite funny is that only savscan is avaliable as command, all other command must be found manually in the installation path of sophos in /opt/sophos-antivirus/bin.

But I am happy now. It works. I hope after reboot

• the process starts during bootup running in the background , I mean a command showing the task in task manager:

  $ps aux | grep savscan 

• internet still works

[EDIT] Yeah it completely works! After reboot, both and all programs!

For Support, I know, I use the free version as an entry. But as I am also maintaining company servers It could be a good method to convince new customers. And that is why I am here in the community forum to stop with. Because I got no ordinary support.

We are always here to help you. I'd also recommend taking a look at the Sophos Central platform for your business environment which is the centralized platform to maintain the servers, endpoint, encryption and many products of the Sophos.

Maybe just one question, I know I can maybe find this in the documentation :-):

Where are the logs, and how do I get requested if an incident happens and what are my options to do this now and later (in command line)?
