Instagram Exeption - Smartphone - web filtering

Hi,

i have defined an exception for Instagram.
Nevertheless I get an error message

2017:07:21-19:52:39 utm_01 httpproxy[27713]: id="0003" severity="info" sys="SecureWeb" sub="http" request="(nil)" function="read_request_headers" file="request.c" line="1581" message="Read error on the http handler 107 (Input/output error)"

Could you please help me?


Proxy is "transparent-Mode"
Firmware: UTM Release 9.500-9

    It could be that the servers are not able to properly communicate with the UTM's HTTP proxy. What happens when you add Instagram URLs in Transparent Mode Skip List in the MISC tab of Filtering option and bypass the proxy?

    I know that would be a workable solution.
    However, the base URL, as well as the links, may be too dynamic to integrate individually into Misc.
    A generic exception of the device I also did not generate.
    I was more likely to find a conventional solution

  • Hi Ulf,

    Browsers have a more-flexible interface for skipping the Proxy, so you might want to try configuring your browser to explicitly use the UTM as it's Proxy and adding a duplicate Web Filtering Profile in Standard mode - it will be consulted before the Default Profile in Transparent mode.  You may need to skip your device as a source in the Transparent Mode Skiplist.  Let us know if that works.
