Mail rejected due to Missing BATV Signature

Hello,

Having problem receiving e-mails from one sender. Sophos SMTP proxy logs reports that mail was rejected due to Missing BATV Signature. Now, there is an exception configure for this sender's domain also the public IP of their mail system which Skips all Antispam options including the BATV.

Any idea why would sophos still reject it due to missing BATV signature.

  • Burim, I would be careful how you configure that Exception.  If an email was rejected for BATV, it means that it was an email that tried to come in as a bounce of a message from you, but it wasn't properly tagged.  This is a classic way for someone to try to get malware into your company.

    Cheers - Bob
