Install on UTM Hardware : Cannot use ACC software license on ASG1xx device

According to the SUM Feature Summary:
Install on UTM Hardware: It is now possible to install SUM on UTM hardware appliances. (Note this will completely format and re-purpose the appliance as SUM, it will no longer be a UTM!) While SUM is designed to be installed on your own, dedicated hardware platform, virtual machine, or Amazon Cloud instance, you asked us to be able to run SUM on UTM appliance hardware, and we've enabled that.

So I have installed SUM4 on an old ASG 120. Installation went smoth. Install the backup file from the ACC V3 worked. [:)]
Once I login the system asks for a license file, nothing easier than this. [:P]
Bummer: I get an Error: Cannot use ACC software license on ASG1xx device [:@]
So this is no fun, instead of able to reuse old hardware!???? [:O]

  • I have some experience with the software version of UTM9.

Since a week I have a UTM220. and got my UTM9 Home license to do some testing.

I dont get it to work to enter my license key in the hardware.

The advise here is: to change (or other place : to remove) te /etc/asg file/folder.

why do i need to hacking around a default sophos solution? has every home user with a hardware box the same problem?

With no SSH access. No keyboard on the UTM220 and a webinterface that does not let me accept my license.....how do i rename/delete that file.
