RED 10 Setup

I have a RED 10 unit for our Montreal office and it is connect to a UTM320 in at head office.  I have read the documentation and I'm lost.  Do I need to create Firewall rules and Masquerading rules what about static routes?

Does anyone have a document on what step need to be done to make a RED unit work without a lot of guessing.

Thanks

  • It's really simple; if you use the provisioning wizard in the RED configuration area, you will end up with it preconfigured as a virtual Ethernet interface... the remote network will just appear to be a locally connected subnet on it's own interface in the UTM.  You then treat that interface / subnet as you would any other physical interface / subnet you configure on your UTM... so yes, in most cases that means configuring firewall rules, NAT rules, and probably (if you are using the other features) web filtering settings, DHCP (probably, to provide IPs to the PCs behind the RED... unless you have another DHCP server at the site).  The thing to remember, is to treat the RED network just as you would a local subnet at your main site.
