RED 10 Setup

I have a RED 10 unit for our Montreal office and it is connect to a UTM320 in at head office.  I have read the documentation and I'm lost.  Do I need to create Firewall rules and Masquerading rules what about static routes?

Does anyone have a document on what step need to be done to make a RED unit work without a lot of guessing.

    It's really simple; if you use the provisioning wizard in the RED configuration area, you will end up with it preconfigured as a virtual Ethernet interface... the remote network will just appear to be a locally connected subnet on it's own interface in the UTM.  You then treat that interface / subnet as you would any other physical interface / subnet you configure on your UTM... so yes, in most cases that means configuring firewall rules, NAT rules, and probably (if you are using the other features) web filtering settings, DHCP (probably, to provide IPs to the PCs behind the RED... unless you have another DHCP server at the site).  The thing to remember, is to treat the RED network just as you would a local subnet at your main site.

    When you provision a RED it will create a dhcp setting for that lan

    Hi,
    if you use the deployment helper you should be pretty save for a standart setup. The inbound documentation of the UTM should help you as well.

    Thanks, I got it all working, but have a couple of things to solve.  Outlook 2007 client does not connect to the exchange server and cannot remote desktop to computer on that network

    Got Outlook working, just had to make a change on the pc.  Still need to get remote desktop working.

    I guess you have to allow it in the firewall.
