How to get the IP address assigned to the uplink interface of my RED device

Hi, can someone help me figure out how to get the IP address assigned by the modem/router to a SOPHOS RED device. I checked my UTM logs and it is shown on my RED 20 device with a format similar to the one below

R2000xxxxxxxxxx: command '{"data":{"uplink":"WAN1","wan1_ip":"192.168.80.100"},"type":"STATUS"}'

However on the rest of my RED 10, 15 and 50 devices, it is not available. I also noticed that the RED logs generated by my RED 20 uses a different format compared to the RED 10, 15 and 50 devices.

Thank you for contacting the Sophos Community!

So that IP 192.168.80.100 should be the one assigned to the RED Device.

For example in mine I got the IP 10.10.1.100 from my DHCP server

And connected to my XG.

Hi Emmanuel, I'm using Sophos UTM and WAN Uplink IP information is not available on the UTM's UI. Is there somewhere else I can get this info?

Just to clarify, you are looking for the Uplink IP?

IF that is the case please send me via PM the S/N of the RED and I think I could find in the provisioning server the IP used.

Hi Emmanuel, yes what I want is the Uplink IP. I am hoping to get a procedure that I can do regularly on my own instead of going through Sophos support.

Hello Jet,

Thank you for the follow-up!

By doing a TCPdump on port 3400 and/or should tell you the Public IP the RED device is using to reach out to the UTM device.

I need to check it on the UTM side and not to the remote site. Will TCP dump still work on the UTM side?
