SOPHOS UTM 9 Ethernet interface doesnt get Address trough PPPOE from Draytek 2960. Interface Stays DOWN

Hello There.

My SOPHOS UTM 9.0 is not able to get an IP address trough PPPOE session from an draytek 2960. when i put a BRIDGED Draytek between the devices it works perfectly.

I van see that the PPPOE Session is setting up correctly. But the DHCP Address from the Draytek PPPOE server doesnt get applied on the Sophos interface.

Does somebody have an idea? Regards,

Extra information.

When i replaced the bridged draytek with a Netgear managed switch, it works as well.

Anybody have any idea?

Hi Stephan,

I had an issue similar to this with my Home edition, I got around it by configuring the interface for 1Gbs instead of auto negotiation. Never found out why.

It doesnt work with setting it to to full 1000 mbit or 100 mbit.

does anyone have any ideas?

Stephan, try the fixed speeds as described in #7.7 in Rulz. Any better luck with that?
