Bug: UTM is flooding me with "[INFO-125] Smtpd not running - restarted"

Hi there,

UTM 9.352-6 is constantly sending me "[INFO-125] Smtpd not running - restarted" mails.

My UTM-notifications are sent via TLS and authentification.

The odd thing is:

I'm getting all notifications! But also the annoying INFO-125 every 5 minutes.

I tried to reboot the UTM, I tried to disable TLS, I applied the latest update - nothing worked.

  • "error creating SAVI client" Seems to be having a problem loading the SAV AV engine. At Management > System Settings > Scan Settings, what is AV preference set to? At Email Protection > SMTP > Antivirus (and in SMTP profiles if using), is AV set for single or dual scan? May want to try disabling SAVI disabling it by setting single scan and the AV Preference to Avira temporarily.  Then disable/enable the SMTP proxy on the Global Tab.  Then you can change things back to reload SAVI. Are your patterns up to date?

    thanks for the very fast response.
    Scan settings -> AV preference: Sophos
    Patterns are up to date (92428).
    Webfiltering and SMTP proxy are both disabled (not needed in my home setup), so I'm unable to set AV to single-scan.

    When I set the Scan settings -> AV preference to "Avira", nothing changed - I'm still getting the mails.

    Any other things I could try?
  • Try enable, then disable the SMTP proxy. Give it a few minutes between. Another alternative would be to go to Management > Notifications > Notifications and disable emails for info-125. It won't magically fix the SMTP SAVI issue, but it will stop the annoyance.

  • I tried to enable the SMTP proxy. Then I tried to set AV to single scan. Then I disabled the SMTP proxy.
    After every step I waited for the restart of the SMTP to be sure.
    Sadly, it doesn't work. Still getting the errors and mails.
    As suggested, I will disable the [info-125]-mails for now, but something is wrong on my UTM.
    It would be nice if this can be fixed in a future version, so I could enable the info again. Thanks in advance.
    If I can provide more information (logs, etc), please say so.
